Keep HomeBranch running
HomeBranch will always be free, self-hosted, and open source. No subscriptions, no telemetry, no lock-in — just your books on your hardware.
Keeping it that way takes real hardware and real costs. Your support goes directly toward the devices and infrastructure that make HomeBranch better for every self-hoster.
Where your support goes
Every contribution funds the hardware and infrastructure that HomeBranch depends on:
E-readers
Testing OPDS catalog integration, sideloading, and sync across Kindle, Kobo, PocketBook, and other e-ink devices requires owning the hardware.
Development hardware
NAS units, Raspberry Pis, and ARM single-board computers are needed to validate that HomeBranch runs reliably on the hardware self-hosters actually use.
App store fees
Yearly Apple Developer Program and Google Play memberships are required to ship and maintain mobile companion apps on every platform.
Built for self-hosters, by a self-hoster
HomeBranch started as a personal project to scratch an itch: a clean, modern e-book library that runs entirely on your own hardware — no cloud dependency, no SaaS fees, no vendor deciding what you can and can't do with your own books.
The project will remain free and open source forever. That's non-negotiable. But building software that works great across NAS boxes, ARM boards, and a growing ecosystem of e-readers means buying real hardware and paying for real platform access — costs that add up quickly.
If HomeBranch has replaced a paid service, saved you from a subscription, or simply made your self-hosted setup a little better, your support helps make sure it keeps getting better.
Thanks for your support
Every contribution — big or small — makes a real difference.
